[ 2011 (Age 17) ]
Akira's chapter starts. He comes into conflict with the Crusaders and sees the psychically-controlled Buriki Daioh for the first time, but is unable to move it. The Crusaders attempt to kidnap a child from the orphanage and fail -- Akira learns that they're attempting to kidnap 2,000 people for an unknown reason. Matsu attempts to rush the government building on his own, Akira follows and they join up. They're chased out of the building and the Crusaders set fire to the orphanage. Akira is trapped in the burning building with Kaori in an attempt to save her. Matsu overdoses on a drug for psychic powers, moves Buriki Daioh, and breaks the roof to save them, then collapses. Akira reads Matsu's mind and learns that Matsu killed his father, but has been remorseful ever since. He melds their minds and uses Matsu's temporary powers with his own to pilot Buriki Daioh effectively. The government revives an old god named Odeo using the kidnapped and liquefied humans -- Akira, through Buriki Daioh, destroys the god. The liquefied humans turn on the government officials, then attempt to devour Buriki Daioh as well. Akira passes out from the strain of trying to escape from them.

Matsu dies. Akira wakes up on a bench in the park with no memory of what happened between his black out and now, but takes over Matsu's food stand and his motorcycle. He still isn't strong enough to move Buriki Daioh on his own. He hears a voice taunting him, then is transported away.

[ Medieval Age ]
Akira meets a group of six others from different time periods: Oboro-maru the ninja, Sundown the cowboy, Masaru the boxer, Cube the robot, Pogo the caveman, and Yuan the kung-fu master. They all piece their stories together and realize that each of them heard a similar voice and fought someone with a similar name: Ode Iou, O. Dio, Odie Olbright, OD-10, O-DI-O, and Odi Wang Lee. They split into two groups and go exploring, during which each person finds a dungeon that seems to be tailored to them -- Akira's is simply an underworld, where all the spirits slaughtered by a demon named Odio reside. They learn Odio was once human, but is the cause of everything that has happened. Akira's group storms the mountain and defeat Odio, but refuse to kill him when he demands it and instead leave. They meet up with the second group, upon which Odio forces them into combat with their versions of his avatars again. They all succeed and shock Odio, who relents, but warns them that anyone with enough hatred can become a demon king like him. Everyone is returned to their normal time periods.

[ 2011 (Age 17) ]
Akira returns home, then goes to speak with the orphanage kids. The next morning, he arrives at the docks early and watches the sun rise over the horizon.
